The 24-hour gated community of Jasmine Creek in Corona Del Mar is unusual in its building design. While most developers look for vertical ways to use space efficiently, this neighborhood was allowed room for open areas and lush landscaped greenbelts. Residents enjoy beautiful walking paths that are found throughout the neighborhood.

Located on the hillside, Jasmine Creek has 324 homes that were built in the mid 1970s. There are two to three bedroom floor plans, that range from 1,857 to 2,750 square feet of living space. M.J. Brock built this development after Walter J. Richardson designed it. There are both single family homes and condos located here. There are height restrictions in place to maintain the views. Amenities include three community swimming pools, six tennis courts, and a clubhouse. Most home prices are at least a million dollars.

Jasmine Creek is close to the Newport Center, which is a shopping, business, and entertainment district. Its center is occupied by Fashion Island, a shopping center that features 200 upscale stores like Neiman Marcus. This neighborhood is also close to the Resort at Pelican Hill, Newport Beach Country Club, and Crystal Cove State Park.

There is an excellent public education system in place here, with The Newport Mesa Unified School District which offers highly ranked facilities such as Abraham Lincoln Elementary and Corona Del Mar High School. There are also many private schools in the Newport Beach area including Our Lady Queen of Angels, Carden Hall, and Newport Christian School.

Corona Del Mar is a community of Newport Beach, and its name means “crown of the sea.” It’s known for the many charming cafes, boutiques, fitness studios, and luxury grocery stores it supports. Although millions of tourists visit here each year, residents say their neighborhoods are quiet and peaceful. There is no municipal government here but Newport Beach supplies this area’s services.
